Henna Art (also known as Mehndi in Indian continent and some middle eastern counties) is 5000 years old art, which is now known as history of India. Henna art aka “Mehndi” is done on a specific body part, usually on palm, fore hands and lower legs, hairs using power of Henna leaves.
Henna plant is commonly found in hot and dry regions such as Middle Eastern countries and India. Henna bush is harvested, dry and converted into power. Girls apply mehndi on thier hands. Tomorrow is Karva Chauth but the girls are already in full colors of Karva Chauth. A big day for married women in India.
They are on a fast for whole day for the long lives of thier husbands. They apply mehndi and are colorfully dressed up. They break the fast in the evening when see the moon in presence of thier husbands.

The Mehndi (known as Henna) is a temporary tattoo that the bride, family, and friends put on their hands and some on their feet on special occasions (particularly at weddings). I personally hate the smell of it, some people actually like it.

Henna, also known as Mehndi, is a brown paste, that when applied to the skin leaves a rich auburn semi permanent stain that lasts for many days, and sometimes, weeks. The Festival - Mehndi Henna
All in all, the festival season went really well this year. I will say one thing though... I will not be doing any more community "Home Days" festivals. I had never done them before and tried a few this summer. TOTAL BUSTS. I felt more like a baby sitter than a henna artist. Ah well... live and learn.
I may do some indoor fests during the colder months, although nothing is set in stone at this point. I was asked to do one at the end of Oct, but I am still debating...

Mehndi - Mehendi tattoo
ehndi (also known as Mehendi or Mendhi) is an ancient India Body Art. Intricate ethnic or contemporary designs and exotic patterns are applied using Henna to various parts of the body (traditionally applied to the hands and feet of women) to prepare them for special ceremonies.
A large design will take normally 30 to 45 minutes. Small designs 15 to 30 minutes. Some very large designs can take hours.
